Fucking drones

One keeps hovering over my garden. It's like there's a massive angry bee. No idea if it had a camera on it or not. Wish it would get lost

Possibly not but it’s still not ok. Like putting up a ladder at your garden fence and looking over. It might be legal but it’s not morally right on any level.

There’s a line somewhere though, I mean people have been taking photos from microlights for years and that seems completely acceptable. I think with drones if you’re just generally flying over at reasonable height that’s at a similar level. Hovering low over someone’s garden is where it becomes a problem. Hovering over businesses etc is fair game.

Thieves and nonces must be overjoyed to know it's not illegal 🙄

If one came over mine, they wouldn't be getting it back that's for sure. These devices are very prone to crash landing aren't they?

BoodleBug51 · 16/04/2022 19:52

It's just so intrusive.

I'd get the hose out too.

namechangeranonymouse · 16/04/2022 20:00

They're not allowed to do that under the air traffic rules.. civil aviation ones.

They are if they’re under 250g.

I thought everyone knew the enemy of a drone is a bog roll thrown so it unrolls as it hits.

It fucks them up entirely.

Every second person has a drone. Every drone has a camera. Drones can be flown up to 400 ft. It's perfectly legal to photograph someone in their garden. Unless they are naked or similar. It is absolutely illegal to throw something with the aim of damaging someone elses drone. Plus they would have you on camera fgs. How strong are you and how strong is your water pressure that you can hurl a toilet roll 400 ft, or you can hose it down? Live with it. They will soon get bored.

I don't think it's legal to photograph someone in their garden because a person's garden is not a public place...
NeedAnOffSwitch · 16/04/2022 22:38

@MissyCooperismyShero I assume from the OP's annoyance at the drone hovering over her garden, that it's not up there 400ft in the air observing the neighbourhood as a whole but hovering directly and low over her private property. Possibly plenty near enough for a good powerful hose hit.

OnaBegonia · 16/04/2022 22:44

Just a wee heads up that drones are one of the most effective ways of tracking missing dogs, not all drones are snooping on you.
I'm involved in a group for just that and the success rate is excellent.
