Hi
I’d love to hear some recommendations for kids’ books. My son is 8 and he loves Wimpy Kid and the Treehouse books. Any other good ones that you good people of Mumsnet could recommend? Thanks in advance.

The Mr Gum series is great and genuinely funny, or the Danger series by David O’Doherty. Also, don’t love these but my DCs enjoyed Tom Gates too.

The Bad Guys and Dogman are both good - comicbook style and really funny.

Anything by Tom Fletcher.

Some David Walliams books are good - Gangsta Granny is funny.

Middle School, and Tom Gates, series are both popular and similar to Wimpy Kid.

Everything by Phillip Reeves & Sarah McIntyre.

Julian Clary's The Bolds series is brilliant.

Mr Penguin series by Alex T Smith is fab and got my reluctant reader into books. Also Mr Gum and The Bolds.
Horrible histories hugely popular with both mine Also.

My DC (9) loves the Captain Underpants series and also Dogman/CatKid and David Williams books. He was also really into the first few Harry Potter books (less so the later ones).
