I've accidentally melted the Easter eggs!

Only got them yesterday and they were left in my car overnight until just now.
Just touched one and it's almost a liquid.

Anyone have any suggestions of how I can harden them? Preferably not the fridge but if that's the only way then will just have to keep the dc from eating them.

If they are melted they are possibly beyond saving? I guess if they still have their shape then put them in the fridge or freezer and hope for the best. I’m sure the chocolate will taste nice anyway!

Sunlight can sometimes change the taste of the chocolate. Hopefully as the boot was protecting them to an extent it’s probably just melted. I would say freeze them and see. Maybe get them some other special chocolate as a back up plan though.

You'll have to freeze them but then you'll be left with a great blocks of chocolate instead of egg shaped chocolate.

It still tastes nice but might not be as Eastery

You could use them to make cornflake/rice crispie/shredded wheat cakes and put mini eggs on top.

I did this one year. Put bags full of Easter eggs on the bed in the spare room, intending to sort them all out lasted in the week. The room is south facing Blush and one half of was black egg had melted away. I still gave them to their recipients!
