Dog park

Following on from ‘that’ thread. I am considering with the help of lots of Aperol’s buying some land to create a dog park. The land price is very reasonable, so reasonable that I could buy it and walk my own dog. I would however like to provide land for other dog walkers. So, I have never done anything like this before and have no idea on how to frame a viable business. Anyone want to point me in the right way? For context I am in Kent.

I pay £12 and theres a coffee machine in the shelter. Theres a few utility training thingys and the fencing is really good. The gate is electric and accessed via a numeric key so owner does not need to be there although she lives beside it so likes to great people using for the first time so she can do the rules etc.

Since she opened there have been loads of new ones opened nearby. We have gone from 1 in a 10 mile radius to 8. And we live surrounded by fields and woodland so you have to wonder if the need for that many is there. One has a lot more agility stuff so is used for dog training mostly, the others appear to be the same as the one I use.

I pay £3.5 for 30 mins. Its a 2 acre field with a 6ft fence and a hard standing area so you can park. You essentially get the code to the gate 30 mins before your session.
It has dog poo bins and a dog poo bags and thats it. V basic.

If you want to increase your price you need to offer more so i guess shelter, maybe some agility equipment etc.

You will need to mow it regularly in the summer.

My one operates from 5.30am right through to 10pm in the summer and its completely booked up mostly 2 weeks in advance

I think its a decent money maker if you get it right and buy the field cheap
