Themes and fancy dress at nursery for young infant - would you bother

My DD 21 months has only recently started nursery part-time 4 mornings a week. They seem to do a lot of fancy dress and theme days all of which are communicated at very late notice, for example a 7pm text asking them to come in the next day dressed as a superhero! (I'm sure this is a taste to come for school!)

Tomorrow they have been asked to go wearing pyjamas but I have only just received the email. We have plans in the afternoon which means I'd need to get her changed. Would you bother at this age? (Don't mean to sound like a party pooper!)

Superhero, no you need notice for that one (and I don't like buying in stuff for one-offs such as that)

Pyjamas, yes. Getting changed afterwards isn't really a big deal

@PartyPCN honestly I do grudgingly because I can’t bear the thought of them noticing the difference, it’s ridiculous and motivated by mom guilt but all the same we do.

Dress ups are more for three and up, I wouldn't have bothered as DS wouldn't have got anything out of it at that age.

21 months is hardly a young infant though, they are a toddler, I read the title thinking you meant a baby under six months old!

Yeah I'd probably do the PJ's one, especially if I opted out of lots of the others. Is getting DC changed after nursery that much of a nightmare?

We usually get about a weeks notice of fancy dress from nursery. If I can be bothered I buy the PJ's version of whatever theme it is, e.g. superhero pyjamas or gruffalo pyjamas etc . That way DC get more wear out of them than an actual costume.
