DD ate recalled kinder egg

Won’t go into details as I don’t want this to be outing but it was sent as a part of an Easter gift and DH wasn’t aware of the kinder recall so DD had a couple of bites.
Checked the box when I came down and saw and it is one of the recalled batches/types.
How worried should I be? 😔

The advice is here www.food.gov.uk/news-alerts/news/fsa-and-fss-issue-precautionary-advice-to-consumers-not-to-eat-certain-kinder-products-linked-to-a-salmonella-outbreak

Precautionary recall. It says symptoms resolve in a couple of days. I would think she will be ok as she only had a couple of bites unless she is particularly vulnerable

You could pick up some diolyte and make sure you have enough cleaning things in as a precaution

Just keep an eye. Any sign of diarrhoea or tummy pain etc call 111 for advice.

I wouldn’t worry too much though. She’s likely to be fine, the recall is obviously precautionary but you’d be unlucky if it affected her.

My dd ate a kinder egg the Friday before last (before the recall & I threw the wrapper away so not sure if it was an affected batch). Sunday she said she wasn’t feeling well and she was sick once in the night. She had little appetite for 2 days and diarrhoea every time she did eat something. It could be a coincidence and I think she probably got off lightly if it was caused by salmonella. Keep your eye on her & perhaps diolyte in the house is a good idea. Hope she’s ok!
