How do you store items in shower?

So I can’t find what I am looking for, which makes me think they don’t exist.

I need something to store shower gel, shampoo etc in 2 x showers. Nothing that sticks to the walls, I have tried many of them and they fall off. Nothing stainless steel as it rusts, again I have tried many.

I’m imagining a small caddy type thing that is waterproof and maybe has small holes in the bottom for drainage.

Does such a thing exist? What does everyone use? I am tired of kicking over stuff in the shower!!

Home Bargains sell a white plastic shower caddy. You hook it over the vertical riser pipe. I put shower gel and shampoo bottles in it. Very useful.

Like you, I tried several ideas before settling for the plastic, 'Croydex' brand.

They look great! I have a different set up to the picture - I have two pipes coming from the wall, wonder if it would work the same?

Every time I have a shower I wish we'd built a sunken shelf in

It's a walk in with no pipe as it's behind the tiles so nowhere to hang anything. Drives me mad!

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 12/04/2022 22:27

These are game changers. Expensive but they are the only thing that works. I have tried countless things over the years and like you say they either rust of fall off the wall. But these honestly are the best £40 I have spent.

Oh @BlackeyedPetitsPois see I really really want to believe you!! I have spent so much money and time on things that crash in the middle of the night!

I have wet wall, not tiles so not sure how they’d work!

@Workyticket tell me about it - two brand new bathrooms just finished and now I think about it!!

We’ve got one of these which works well

BlackeyedPetitsPois · 12/04/2022 22:33

Aaah didn’t realise you did not have tiles!!
Sorry!!

(But they do work - mine have been up for over a year and not fallen off once - even with heavy shampoo bottles etc)

Cantdecidewhere · 12/04/2022 22:34

I have the shower gems too, great on tiled wall. Have them 2yrs now, fully loaded all the time, zero issues.

WeAllHaveWings · 12/04/2022 22:35

We have one of these attached to the shower riser above the shower head. We have had for 6 years and no sign of rust.

Holds 2 decent sized bottles in each side and neat/tidy.

@BlackeyedPetitsPois no need to apologise I should have said!

I see they can be fitted to wet wall though…!

Just got one of the white hook over shower caddy type, I got mine from Wilko. Inoffensive and does the job.

AnastasiaRomanov · 12/04/2022 22:42

I’m looking for one for a corner shower with sliding doors.

ohdrearydrearyme · 12/04/2022 22:43

Maybe look at it another way and don't store those things in the shower?
When we had our bathroom redone a few years back I decided to keep things as simple as possible. So nothing is stored in the shower: it's kept in the bathroom cabinet and taken into the shower before bathing and taken back out when done. Clean up is much easier and I get a little kick out of seeing it empty the rest of the time: like being in a hotel or spa.

Whywhywhydelilahlalalalalalala · 12/04/2022 22:48

You all need a simplehuman shower caddy in your lives - www.simplehuman.co.uk/collections/bath?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3uDa6r-P9wIVgbTtCh0IhQCmEAAYASAAEgJT8PD_BwE easy to fit, adjust, doesn’t rust like the cheaper caddies - tidy shower godsend!

MrOllivander · 12/04/2022 22:48

I have these. Bought sept 2021, stuck to textured mosaic tiles and they haven't budged despite having a lot on them
You can yank them and they don't move!

@Ratsindahouse

I also have one of these in another shower. It’s a bit uglier but has never ever fallen off and there are loads of heavy bottles in it.

]]

To follow on from previous post, This has been in a corner shower for over 3 years and never fallen off the wall despite daily use and having loads in it. Wasn’t expensive so worth a go
LolaLolaLolas · 12/04/2022 22:54

I second what @Whywhywhydelilahlalalalalalala has said. They’re great, fit anywhere, don’t rust and look good.
