Nail infection help please!

My son had had what appears to be a severe fungal infection on 2 of his toes for years. I sent clippings away to GP and they said no infection found (I'm assuming it wasn't done correctly or something!) so I have tried literally every over the counter remedy I can find to no avail!

It is awful looking, very thick, yellow and difficult to trim. I really am at my wits end and struggling to get another GP appointment at the moment.

Does anyone have any recommendations of something that has worked for them? We are due to go abroad in a few months and he is very paranoid about showing his feet.

I read on here to file or shave the surface of the nail with a knife blade and then apply neat eucalyptus oil or Vicks. It's worked on one of my nails but not on the other...

Thank you, I'll try that! Did you find anything that helped with your other nail?

Are you doing the over the counter stuff for long enough? It literally takes about a year to treat.

Book him to see a chiropodist rather than a GP if you can.

Excellent idea! Found one locally that I'll call in the morning.

Thanks everyone!
