Part time to full time work

So I've an opportunity for promotion in work which should hopefully (just short of) double my pay, however, I'll have to stop my part time hours 25 and go full time 35.
Ive 2 children 9 and 7 who have lots of activities scheduled around my part-time hrs and if course wont be able to do any school pick ups.
I would also miss my free time when the kids are at school. I can get the house tidy and do a shop at quiet times. I also get upset with the thought of them being shipped out of the house every day in the summer holidays. My mum was stay-at-home and always loved my summers lazying about the house.
we're comfortable enough but could always do with extra. I know I'd be good at the promotion and have been working towards this but just a little worried it's came maybe 3 yrs early but if they hire someone in I might missed my chance to ever move up.

Just wanting to hear from others who've went back to full time hours that it's fine, children adjust and we'll be happy or equally from anyone who did it and was a mistake.
Why is everything always soaked in mum guilt? when my husband started a new job he didn't have to worry about how it would effect the children!

Can you ask for flexible working? I work 2 short days and 3 longer days so you could try and arrange activities for the days you potentially finish early.
Can you buy extra holidays? I buy an additional week and it really helps with taking a half day here and there for things that crop up.
You can get your shopping online and have a standard weekly order that covers all the basics. Maybe get a cleaner to help even if it's every second week.
Can your husband apply for flexible working too to share the load?

No flex I asked when offered. They want someone full time in the role 5 days a week. I'll build up a bit of time in lieu with a few evenings meeting but not enough to schedule anything around.
Husband drives a lot for work so some days is home early someday not home til after 7 so can't really count on him.
