Tracking app internet usage

We’ve recently moved from a town to a large city and My kids are wanting to wander a bit further afield than they used to in our old town. I found an app called “Find my kids” so i can access their location when they’re out. I’ve never needed to top up their phones before because they never really used it when they were out playing as it was just the one street, and I knew all the parents. And in the house they just used the wi-fi.

How much data is needed for location sharing? (I know it depends on how often they go out for, I’ll say probably be out for at least 2/3 hours per day)

I’ve topped them up and they have unlimited texts and calls and 4GB data

I have looked on google and there’s not really much info I can find for that specific use of data.

Or if anyone has any experience with this specific app and data usage that can guide me to how much data they will need.

They have also been told ideally to only use the phone for communication between us or emergency services and they completely understand so I’m not worried about them using extra internet when out and about.
