Kids party without an entertainer/disco. Can it be done?

Book the village hall for daughters birthday later in the summer so 3 months away yet. Have had no luck finding a disco or entertainer of any kind, keep getting told it's peak season.

Can it be done without? I mean when I was a kid we never had entertainers, probably hard work for our parents but we just had party games or the local kids play centre (that was pants comapred to today's standards).

Anyway, ever party my dc have been to has had a wow factor thing - disco, entertainer, face painter, bouncy castles (bouncy castle is a no due to Dd having a mild physical disability and she hates them!)

Can it be done with a speaker, Bluetooth and Apple Music? Party games? I have a microphone and a disco light too!

Any advice? Don't want to stress myself out.

Honestly I think it comes down to personality

Are you or a family member a natural “Captain Fun” who can keep a group of children interested and entertained ? If so then yes disco, party games, bit of craft will be fine. If not… I would keep trying entertainers, including out of town ones (offer to pay mileage!) A class full of bored 7 yr olds could be brutal.

I think it is definitely doable, but I wouldn't want to do it!

Have you looked for those animal entertainers, who bring small animals to the party for the DC to look at?

My DD also went to one where the mum had bought each of them a plain white t-shirt and the party activity was to decorate it, together with jewellery making. The t-shirt and bracelets were the DC's party bags.

Invest in a play parachute. I did this for my 10 yr old and they all loved it. Lots of games to play- just look online

Learn to make balloon swords and balloon flower hats - easiest thing in the world and it makes you look like the party queen (in 7 yo eyes). If you don't have a face painter, stick a friend at a table with a pile of fake tattoos. Get a face paint stick of rainbow colours, quick swish, done.
