My dd 17 wants to drop college and work more hours in her weekend job, she hasn't psssed her maths or english gcse yet and i was also under the impression she has to be in education until she is 18,
If she leaves college to work more hours but won't be anymore than 24 a week do i still get child benefit and does exh still pay maintenance, this has been arranged through cms as he didn't pay anything at the beginning and still begrudgingly pays it now, he is now remarried and living with new wife and her dd that is 8.
I have been looking online but have got myself so confused now,
And do they not have to do education up til 18.

I should add her course finishes in july and has been accepted on new course for sept but she is now saying she doesn't want to do it.

I think they have to be in education, employment or training.

Is that umtil they are 18, and how does that affect child maintenance and child benefit

If she leaves college any child benefit and other benefits you receive in connection to her (tax credits or universal credit) will stop; if you receive any housing benefit or council tax reduction based on household income these could be affected as they might take her income into account (but you would still receive the single person’s discount until she’s 18 as she’s not counted as an adult).

The only benefit i get is child benefit and also the maintenance from her dad, i don't receive any other benefits.
But how do they enforce her stsying in education til she is 18.
What happens with his maintenance if she leaves does he not pay that either eben if its only a weekend job, she will mot get her contracted hours incressed and will still only be on an 8 hr contract as just a weekend job, she works in primark.

Realistically they won't enforce her staying in education until 18. They strongly encourage it but what can they do to force it?

I have just googled and it says that CMS stops at 16 if they leave education and 20 if they stay in full time education.
