Where to eat in central Manchester?

Having a very rare night out in Manchester next week with DH but am very out of touch with the city centre. If anyone can suggest a low/medium priced, not very formal place to eat in central Manchester that would be much appreciated. If it could be a teeny bit romantic too that'd be the jackpot! Thanks

La Bandera is a good mid-range option. It's not expensive, and it has a good ambience - relaxed and not fussy, but stylish.

I love dimitris

@Grotbag81

Scene Indian Street Kitchen on Spinning fields is reasonable and romantic.

Cosmo world Buffet eat all you want on Deansgate wide range of great world food, great value.

Buffet city (Chinese eat all you want) great food and value.

Is cosmo Open? We went a month or so ago and it was shut.

San carlo is lovely.the lobster ravioli is delicious

If you head to Ancoats - 10 mins walk, there are some great choices: Canto, Elnecot, Rudy’s pizza, Edinburgh Castle pub and more.

Mackie mayor is lovely but not romantic. NQ/Ancoats lovely for uniqueness. There is a nice Mexican near Mackie mayor but the menu is pared down. Sugo - delightful. Also not romantic but delicious food. Lilys deli kitchen for vegetarian food. Dimitris is nice, kids love it. Spinningfields looks amazing but not eaten there as have kids/prefer NQ. Corn Exchange has some lovely places too.

Six By Nico is fab, about £35 per head for a set six course tasting menu on a theme that changes every six weeks. Food is great and the restaurant is relaxed but has a nice buzzy atmosphere. V popular so booking is a must.

Checchetti (probably spelt wrong) the little sister restaurant of San Carlo is lovely, more small plates/Italian tapas. Always have a lovely time in there

Ann yeong. The most incredible Korean food including korean bbq.

We were there 3 weeks ago and it wasn't as busy as usual, maybe people haven't realised it's back open.

I had a nice meal at Comptoir Libanais recently (Spinningfields) it was a weekend night so quite busy and bustly but I think it could have a more intimate feel during the week. It was friendly and informal
