Liverpool

I'm taking my Mum away for a long weekend to Liverpool at the end of this month. We are staying at The Resident Hotel which is near The Tate and the docks (I think?). Neither of us have ever been before and I would be really grateful for recommendations of nice places to eat and things to do. We both love a good browse around shops, good food and we were thinking of visiting the Cavern club and perhaps doing a Beetles tour but have heard some are better than others. Any recommendations gratefully received 😊

I love staying at The Resident and my favourite place for dinner and cocktails are either of the Mowgli restaurants: there’s one on Bold St and the other is on Water St

Head up to the Georgian quarter and visit the two cathedrals and have brunch at The Quarter on Falkner street.
It’s nice then to meander down to Bold street where there are lots quirky Indépendant cafes and shops.

The museums are all great. Bold St for food. Lovely parks if the weather is nice. Metro out to Port Sunlight and the Lady Lever gallery. Definitely get a ferry for photos. Book a show - Empire has the big touring shows and is a beautiful grand theatre. Everyman, Playhouse or Royal Court too.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, really helpful. I've booked a table for lunch at Mowgli and booked a table at The Quarter for Sunday evening. Definitely going to do a ferry trip as well.
