Switch tripping

Oh my word, the mystery of the constant tripping switch!

The switch tripped for the lounge while I was cooking, microwaving etc. Turned it back on. I noticed the red light on my oven is now permanently on (the one that goes on to indicate the oven is heating then goes off when it has reached the set temperature). Every time I twiddle the knob off zero and back again it trips the switch. In fact I just checked and every time I turn the oven on it trips the switch. That is no good is it.

Is there a fix or is it an electrician job? 🤔

Well unless your handy with a multi-meter then and electrician. I would think its an element going to ground and tripping the switch.

If you set the temp of the oven to zero does it still trip/ does the light stay on?

I managed to use the oven so am now confused. It might be one of those make do problems but I shoulf Probably get an electrician.

If it continues, get an electrician. Occasionally our built in oven tripped our switch, and to be honest I thought it was the oven. I needed an electrician for something else and asked him to check it out, it was a problem with the way the box and trip switches had been set up before we moved in.
