85yo DM insists on sitting on a squashy little settee that forces her to almost lie horizontal & then roll out of it & struggle to her feet. It has a matching squashy chair that is difficult for her too. They are years old & were reupholstered some time back.

She has a firmer more upright chair in the other room that could be swapped but refuses as it wouldn't match, even though she admits it is much better & easier for her to use.

She has enough leftover fabric from when the squashy settee & chair were redone to redo the upright chair, but then the swapped out squashy chair would not match in the other room...

The cunning use of throws might be tolerated, but what she'd really like is for my DP to switch the chairs every time she is having visitors even though he lives ten miles away and has other stuff to do Grin
