ear tubes

Is anyone else worried about their child going under general anaesthesia just to have ear tubes put in? Came across this being used in Portugal & Italy, apparently will be available in UK soon -

Is this grommets? I’ve never heard of ear tubes.

Do you mean grommets?

Ds went under GA a few times as a toddler/preschooler - twice for grommets. Was never worried about it.
