Washing how long /temperature

I have read how people was at 30/40 I'm just wondering does it actually get clean and smell fresh ?

Also how long is the wash ? my lowest time is 15 mins. I do have a 30 min wash. I usually do a 1hr wash. There are longer ones but I have never done them.
