Hi all, so I have great news! I have recently been offered a new job for a huge company based in amazing offices, I'll be increasing my salary by £10k, increasing my annual leave allowance by 9 days, decreasing my contracted working week by 5 hours and I'll get at least one day working from home compared with my current 0 days, I am also going to be in an environment where there are lots of opportunities for growth and there are lots of people around.
This is all in big contrast to my current job, where I spend most of my time completely alone in an office, I can't work from home, I get the minimum legally required benefits, I work 9 to 6 and quite often I don't actually have anything to do so I am bored out of my mind and the job is dead end with no opportunities for progression.
I am a little bit worried about starting my new exciting job, just because, to be honest I have spent the last 4 years quite depressed with very little energy and motivation, I go to bed quite early and wake up feeling so tired still, I usually end up just chucking any old thing on to wear to work as I know I'm not going to see anyone anyway, so then I feel crap about how I look which doesn't make me feel very confident. Plus, the fact that I know I'm not going to see anyone all day means that I don't have to fake having energy which in a weird way.. makes me have less energy!
I've never spoken to my gp about depression because I always knew that a big part of it was the job. Unfortunately I'm not going to have any time off between finishing my current job and starting my new job, and I am worried that I'm going to go into it with the same mindset and lack of energy as I currently have! I want to go into it feeling fresh and like a new me!
Does anyone have any tips? I hope this post makes sense haha, I think that I need a new work wardrobe and that will help me feel better about myself, maybe I'll buy some new makeup bits too, and I might start drinking fresh juices in the morning before work to give me an energy boost. I already exercise 2/3 times a week, and have started taking vitamin D supplements, I wake up at 7 everyday and go to bed around 10pm so I get plenty of sleep but just always wake up exhausted still!
