Just that really.. a robovac for the lawn. I am dying for one but know absolutely nothing about them other than what I have seen on the TV

I haven't but the people who live in my dream lottery house down the road have.
I've never actually seen anyone in the house or garden but a lot of the time when I go past and stare longingly at it, the little mower is going up and down doing its job.
The grass looks good so it seems to work well.

We have a Flymo one and it's amazing. The grass is in such good condition and it saves hours and hours of work. Wish we'd got one sooner.

I do!
It's a Flymo 1200R. It's a few years old now and I'm not sure you can buy that model anymore. I got it in B&Q on one of their old 20% off days.
It's not a fancy GPS tracking model. You need to lay a guide wire around the edge of your lawn so it knows where to go.
The dedicated garages are a bit expensive for me so I built my own.
Like a robovac (I have one of those too) it says you need 1m space around the charging platform. This is crap. Ours sits at the side of the house.
I program it to cut for an hour twice a week and Zoey the Mower does her thing.
You need somewhere to store it for the winter and a screwdriver to change the blades each year.
Snails like to live under it, as do frogs - which gave me a helluva fright the first time a random thing jumped out at me!
You will still need finishing shears to do some of the edges of the lawn especially if your lawn is laid right up to walls or fences.
If she died tomorrow I'd definitely replace her. Before the lawn was either a meadow or scalped and now it's just kept clipped at a nice height.
They are also entertaining to watch.

I don't because I have a tiny lawn that takes about 5/10 minutes to mow so can't justify the outlay. However, if I was still in my previous house I definitely would.

I think,as with my robot hoover, the 'job' gets done more frequently, never gets out of hand, and the result is a lawn that you love.

I have really tried to justify the cost (only me and I don't have a mower so a purchase of some sort is essential soon); I really can't but I would if I could
