.. but how can I get things out of the back of my radiator!? My toddler has a habit of shoving things down there, the latest thing is a plate and it's driving me mad trying to get everything out! So far I've used a kitchen spatula.

Is there anything else I can use that will actually be effective?

something like a plate i'd use 2 thin pieces of wood (bamboo sticks from the garden are good for this) to pinch from either side and lift up.
Things like keys with keyrings, a coathanger hook

@growgrowinggrown There's large brackets either side of the radiator so I can't access from the side Sad only the top

How are the radiators hung? We have 2 brackets screwed to the wall, and the radiator just hangs on them with plastic piping. You can literally lift the radiator up, and move it 6 inches or so. After 15 years in the house DH has only just learnt this. Worth investigating.

@JurasicPerks Ooh I'll have a look! Hopefully mine are the same!

@JurasicPerks Don't think mine are the same unfortunately, just tried to lift it off and it's fully stuck Sad

Try pushing up from the bottom with a strong flat bit of cardboard or plastic--bendy enough to get into the bottom of the radiator but strong enough to move the plate... worked for me!

Flatten the inner cardboard roll of kitchen roll or wrapping paper , then push up from underneath
