Audi Q5

So I'm on the early stages of getting a new car. I fell in love withe X3 but so far the sensible option seems to be the Q5. So what's the ownership like? Is it reliable? What I loved about the BMW one is that if felt like having a party inside the car. (I'm a child at heart!)

Take a look at the 2021 WhatCar reliability survey. The Q5 came mid table but the X3 scored significantly higher.

We looked at both but got the X3, can't fault jt.

Am I right to think the X3 is bigger?

Massive issue with faulty indicators on Audis.

😉

I’ve got a q5, actually I’m on my second. I love it. Never had a problem with it, only one service in the 3 years I had it (leased car). My current one is plug in hybrid and definitely doesn’t have quite the oomph of the older one, but I get 75mpg so can’t complain.

The Q5 isn’t as big as you would think inside. Obviously it depends on your circumstances but we went to try one and with the passenger seat pushed back to accommodate my husband’s long legs, we couldn’t easily turn the car seat 360 degrees as it was catching on the back of the passenger seat. We ended up looking elsewhere but appreciate that a super tall passenger and a baby seat are quite niche!

At full capacity it would be for 1 toddler in car seat, two teen-agers, and a smallish 9yo. (Plus dog).
