Use streaky bacon and grill it

MarianosOnHisWay · 03/04/2022 20:17

Streaky bacon in the oven. When it’s ready, transfer it straight onto paper kitchen towels to blot excess fat liquid.

I am the scrambled egg woman, I am now interested in the bacon Grin

TinyBarista · 03/04/2022 20:19

BBQ!

JemimaTiggywinkle · 03/04/2022 20:20

Always grill for me, turn it over half way through

bebanjo · 03/04/2022 20:22

Back bacon in the oven on blast furnace, turn after 10 minutes then keep turning and checking every 5 mins tell it looks like it will snap.

Very hot oil in the frying pan 🥓

VampireMoney · 03/04/2022 20:54

I do it in the oven. Greaseproof paper on a baking tray. Very hot oven. And always use streaky.

Never a bad thing, it's odd that we choose such specific items for breakfast but not dinner isn't it?

LadyHenryofRawlinsonEnd · 03/04/2022 21:22

Thanks to mr bloody kellogg.

PoshWatchShitShoes · 03/04/2022 21:46

Make the frying pan very hot before adding streaky bacon. Then keep it on till it starts to crisp and turn a few times. Yum!

Back bacon never cooks as well.

Isseywith3witchycats · 03/04/2022 22:15

streaky bacon and fry it in a dry frying pan it crisps in its own fat back bacon has too much water in it thats better cooked in the oven

Carpediem15 · 03/04/2022 22:17

Air fryer all the way.

NannyGythaOgg · 03/04/2022 23:20

Love how every other thread is 'I'm not using my oven any more' and this one is advocating 20 mins at 220 for rashers of bacon.

We are all different

NannyGythaOgg · 03/04/2022 23:21

PS must try it in my instant pot

LeonardoDiwitchy · 03/04/2022 23:24

Air fryer

OutsideVoice · 03/04/2022 23:27

I’ve seen recommendations for cooking streaky bacon in water - just enough to cover it. Apparently that’s how it’s done in America.
Never tried it, but I retain useless information and this seems like the thread to share it.

Antarcticant · 03/04/2022 23:27

Griddle pan on hob

Endeavormorse · 03/04/2022 23:28

Definitely air fryer

My Dad always did it like this to get the white scummy stuff out of it then popped under the grill for a minute or 2.

Thats a fatty ham thinly slice🙁 No crisp, no crunch.
darlingdodo · 04/04/2022 08:52

Ina does hers in the oven - always looks fantastic.

DH does his in the air fryer for 5 minutes.

TonTonMacoute · 04/04/2022 10:01

Very hot oven (we have an Aga so 220 degrees). We also get our bacon from our neighbours who are farmers, it is superb and has no water added and fat an inch thick.
