If you’re a nurses or carer please can you recommend some shoes?

I’m always on the go and on my feet for 12hrs a day and my feet and ankles are suffering!

I’ve tried trainers and whilst they’re comfortable they do nothing to alleviate the pain and swelling I get in my feet and ankles. It takes days for them to go back down

I tried sketchers, barely lasted 6 months. I've also tried 2 pairs of Walking shoes which are very comfy but I wear the backs out in 8months. Last year I bought doc Martens Dante, by far the best shoe I've had. Comfy, wide toe box, and supportive.

Another vote for the ugly Clarks ones... Been wearing them for many years as have most of my colleagues. There's a reason you can walk into Clarks and ask for the nurses shoes Grin can do a good 12-14 hours in them no problem.

I'm not a nurse but I work standing up all day and swear by Allegria Paloma shoes. I used to wear Sketchers, but when I switched to the Alegria shoes, my hip and foot pain stopped completely.

They are £££ though, and although they have a quirky charm, I suspect most S&B posters on here would hate them with a passion strong enough to choose the pain over the shoes.

Not a nurse or carer but on my feet all day, I wear Crocs, they feel like wearing my slippers and are so comfy. But the need to be actual Crocs, lots of the generic clogs are nowhere near as comfy

I have also tried the Clarks ones, and had pain with them, too.

I wear Geox. I have never had any problem with my feet after 12hr shifts but my colleagues complain of painful feet and legs the whole time.

I'm a learning disabilities nurse (no uniform) - I wear allbirds Mizzles - water resistant and washing machine friendly, wool, can wear without socks in summer - I have two pairs to allow for washing plus one are high top and one low. So comfortable, the only thing better are my actual walking boots but they aren't indoor appropriate! I have wide feet and think they might not work as well for narrow feet, they tend to be wide.

Which type of Geox do you use please? 🤔
