Fitbit alternative

Hi all, I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a Fitbit alternative?

I’ve had several Fitbit’s over the years and am getting increasingly frustrated with how unreliable they are, and how bad the customer service is. My current Fitbit tracker has finally given up, so I’m looking for an alternative to Fitbit.

My budget is £150 max. I’m not a runner and don’t do extensive exercise, but I do go on long walks so love the step counting feature. I also want to be able to track my sleep and heart rate.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Garmin owners seem to love them.

I've got a Garmin now having had a basic fitbit since 2017. I don't like the garmin as much. I am a runner but v amateur so the running stats are good but the sleep is terrible, nowhere near as accurate as fitbit, and the layout of the app is much more messy and cluttered than fitbit.

I am thinking of buying a cheap fitbit to get these features back.

Which fitbits have you had that went wrong?

I had a Fitbit Ionic which was recalled because the battery was overheating and burning people, so I dug out an old Charge 2 to count steps and use the Fitbit app for walks. I have a Garmin 245 for running.

You could look at the Garmin Venu 2 smartwatch or the cheaper Venu SQ. Both will allow you to track your walks via GPS as well as count steps. You can also get a Garmin Vivoactive 4 step counter on Amazon for £59.

I think the Charge 4 is quite decent and might suit you. The newer Charge 5 has indifferent reviews on Amazon.

Thanks, yellowsuninthesky

It was the Charge 5 I was considering but went for the Garmin Forerunner55 because of the poor Charge 5 reviews.

I will have a look at the Charge 4 - maybe get it next birthday.
