Anyone with British Gas nit heard about their price increase yet?

I'm sorry it's another thread about the rise in gas and electricity prices, I'm just wondering if other people on British Gas standard variable tariff have had anything through about how much their payment is increasing to?

We had a letter about a month ago saying they would be in touch soon about it but so far I've not heard anything and my payment amount on the app is still the same.

I know it's only just the start of April and I could try and get in touch but with how busy I reckon they will be at the moment I don't have the heart to try it just yet. My DD manager on the app suggests I change my DD to £190 every month 😱 I submit a reading every month on the same date and received a text prompting me to text with up to date readings on 31st March which I did along with giving a reading via the app.

Has anyone else heard anything or had confirmation of what their payment would be going to?

I'm with Octopus and when you give a reading it updates your balance and shows you the usage and cost. How often do they produce a statement?

I have had the email, but the smart meter data stopped working for me too. Ive complained weekly and they just keep saying a fix being put in place. My home smart meter won't show me my usage either.

Bloody annoying. Absolutely no idea how much electricity I'm using.

The last bill I had was sent in January which covered from September to December, but looking at my billing history they seem to come through sporadically, some a few months between each bill and others longer 😕 I have just been checking the DD manager and increasing it to the suggested amount to keep everything on track. I would call them but the last time I had to phone them to ask something I had no idea what the person was telling me. The one thing I really struggle to understand as an adult is gas and electricity billing 😳

British Gas are hopeless. We got transferred to them when ours went bust. They keep billing me then reversing my bills. You can't email them or message them. Their website plus always crashing. I tried calling them, took 30 mins to get through to a woman in South Africa who was really helpful and sorted out an up to date bill so I knew where I was with everything, then a few days later the bill got reversed again! I am now about £500 in credit but am bracing for a huge bill at some point. I give meter readings regularly, but no indication of what it equates to.

It also took four months for credit from my previous supplier to show up on my account!
