What is this weird warm sensation?

I keep getting an odd warm sensation under my right breast and down a bit, basically where my ribs are. It feels exactly like I have spilled a warm drink there OR it feels like my baby has leaked through his nappy onto me (which actually does happen regularly) its really bizarre. It happens about 3 times a day.

Not sure if its relevant but 4months post partum, no health issues.

Just wondered if anyone else had experienced it?

Let-down? That's more of a tingly feeling though, for me at least. Does it happen at any particular times, like when baby is crying?

NannyGythaOgg · 02/04/2022 20:49

I had a sensation similar to that in my leg when I was low on Vitamin B12, it felt just as though someone had tipped a warm drink down me. I suspect yours is more likely to be baby related but it may be worth getting it checked.

Even if not breastfeeding, your boobs can still have the let-down reflex for quite a while after birth/you stop feeding. I'm pregnant again and have started getting it occasionally!

Mrsmch123 · 02/04/2022 22:13

I get this randomly on my arms and legs. If I'm out I would swear someone had tipped warm water over the back of my legs. I don't know what it is tho🤷🏻‍♀️

Whitecushion · 02/04/2022 22:17

I used to get it in my legs. I used to look for a cup of water to see what had spilled. Its really weird. It was years ago and when my children were small. I dont get it now.

LivingInaBuildingSite · 02/04/2022 22:19

I get this occasionally on the tops of my legs.

My physio says it’s where I’ve irritated a nerve in my lower back. So it sends a message but an unclear one, so sends heat, if that makes sense?

Don’t know about anywhere else though. Worth getting checked by somebody if you can,

BonesJones · 02/04/2022 22:22

I get this sometimes! Usually in the middle of my stomach, between my ribs or in my legs. Bloody weird! No idea what it is though!

Moppincraxy · 02/04/2022 22:29

I get this on my forehead sometimes. Like someone has spilled lukewarm tea on my head! It goes away quite quickly so I just ignore it. It probably only happens a couple of times a year but time it happens I get the feeling maybe three times in a week and then it stops. I've had blood tests for other reasons, including vitamin deficiencies, amd nothing has shown up. Bodies do weird things!

CSmidlands · 02/04/2022 22:31

I get this round my bottom / top of legs sometimes - so it feels like I’ve sat on a damp patch (I have frequently checked to make sure I haven’t!) very odd and I haven’t found a reason…

JaneJeffer · 02/04/2022 22:40

I get it on my forehead too just like when a drip of water runs down. It's really weird!

Focksy · 02/04/2022 23:33

Oh I used to get this sometimes on my back and my stomach. It felt like I'd dribbled a hot drink on myself. So very weird. It happened quite often for a few months, then never again.

BeeFan63554 · 02/04/2022 23:37

I've had this on my thigh before when I was pregnant, it stopped at some point but was exactly as you describe. It's really odd! I think it's something to do with a nerve.

Floralnomad · 02/04/2022 23:39

It’s apparently pinched nerves , I get it on my thighs sometimes .

Madrodg123 · 01/02/2024 17:03

Omg please shed me some light! I have the warm feeling inside my lower leg on my calf no swelling no pain been to drs she was as baffled as me and laughed and said try to ignore it ! I have got bad lower back pain on the same side and sometimes my foot aches could it be a pinched nerve ?? Because Google tells me the worse and I already suffer with health anxiety ! Would love a reply I know it's a old post x

Oh is the baby cuddled onto you at the time?
Is this where baby usually wees on you?

It's a shadow wee! You are so in tune with your baby you know when they are doing a wee.
