Cord/belly button Infection?

Midwife clamped the cord very close to dds tummy so it felt off after just two days. We’re now day 8, it’s still oozy and a bit smelly. Do you think this could be infected? Pic attached! No signs of fever or anything

Looks fine to me but ring the labour ward because you are worried and they will reassure you.

Were you advised to bathe with salt water? That looks fairly normal to me too, tummy buttons can be a bit sticky. When are you next due to see someone? You'd still be under the midwife, I think?

To me that just looks like it’s healing. Worth checking with the midwife/doctor/health visitor for peace of mind though.

My dd had an infection in her belly button as a newborn and it looked much worse than that. That looks scabby like it’s healing.

Looks okay, but if actually smelly I'd at least want to do a swab to check for infection. Call your midwife.
