Reading the gas meter

Right - just measured how much gas is used to run a bath - and the meter went up 1.012. But that would mean that it costs 7.5p to have a bath. That can’t be right! Is it something to do with the fact that it says m3 after the units - is it cubed? Do I have to times it by 3?
