Have guests for lunch
My menu plan is:

Quiche
New potatoes
Salad
Roast chicken
Crusty bread
Cheeses

What else can I add to this?

Pudding is going to be chocolate cheese cake with berries.

Sounds delish. What time do you want us round? 😀

@girlmom21

All oh those are yummy sounding but it’s honestly a weird combo.

This is a standard UK picky tea. How dare you call it weird?! Basically blasphemy.

How dare you call it a 'picky tea'

Like a scab 🤮

It all sou ds dry. I'd need dips etc.

All sounds lovely - I'd have some cous cous with my salad too. Preferably Moroccan style so it includes chick peas and sultanas. Yum.

girlmom21 · 02/04/2022 15:05

Hahaha @Speakingmymind what do you call it?!
I'd never thought of it like that. I'll probably never be able to picture anything else now though Envy

No meal can have too much cheese or too many carbs !

BrieAndChilli · 02/04/2022 19:07

So I went with
Quiche (no meat in it as DD is a veggie)
Roast chicken
Mixed salad
Coleslaw
New potatoes
Chutney
Cheese
Baguette

Twas delicious and second helpings for all.

Pudding is more like a chocolate tart than a cheese cake served with berries.

We then went on a 5 mile walk including a part called 355 steps so worked off the ‘carb and cheese heavy’ meal!!!

Thanks for the coleslaw suggestions - it was exactly what my original menu was lacking.

Sounds lovely 😋

It sounds like loads of (delicious) food.

I'd perhaps go for a couple of salads, but not the richer kind with mayonnaise dressings. (A bean salad maybe? Something with marinated/grilled Mediterranean veg? Or beetroot?)

If the berries are on top of the cheesecake perhaps some fruit as well, for anyone who fancies something lighter for dessert?

Daffodils22 · 02/04/2022 19:43

Sounds good to me
