How long for funeral?

A relative died during Covid lockdown and the funeral took soooooo long. Unfortunately another relative died today. Trying to gauge when funeral would be. They know what he died of (was in pallative care) not sure if that makes a difference in regards to post mortem.

About 5 weeks in my recent experience. Obviously depending on what is planned.

Sorry for your loss Thanks

we had to wait 4 weeks in Dudley as was a burial, death registered within 48 hours known cause and very elderly apparently less time if it is a cremation but not much less, i know someone else in Sussex kent area also 4 weeks but re;atives flying in from USA

My husband died on 27th Feb and his funeral was on 21st Mar, we could've had a slightly earlier date but we wanted a late afternoon slot. He had terminal cancer so registering his death was straightforward and there was no need for a PM.

Close relative died during 2nd lockdown. Funeral 16 days later

I shouldn't imagine there will be a post mortem if the death was expected.

How long until the funeral will depend on things like if the family are after a particular day of the week or particular time slot. If happy to take what is available then it can be much sooner than if you want more popular time.
Also varies crematorium to crematorium.
I wouldn't expect it to be more than 3 weeks though, possibly sooner.
