Mono and Auto. What do they actually do? Only had this car a couple of weeks and still working out all the gadgety bits!

Auto has to do with the climate control. I've never quite managed to get it working though and usually end up overriding it because I'm too hot or cold, or need the aircon on to clear the windows or something. I never got a manual with my car and had to read the one online, which is always a bit of a pain as I have to use it on my phone if I'm in the car trying to look something up.

I think auto means it automatically adjusts the fan speed to keep it at that temperature.

Not sure about mono as mine doesn't have that but I would guess it means both sides of the car are the same temperature, instead of setting them individually.

The mono in mine (Peugeot) means that when you turn the heating up or down it does both sides at the same time (each side has an individual heating control) it means you can turn both sides up and down at the same time without having to faff with both knobs!

Did you not get a manual with the car?
