Calpol substitute

With Calpol nearly 4 quid for a small bottle, has anyone come across a cheaper substitute? My DC's are 14 and 10.

I remember when I was a kid (back in 70's/80's😳) just being given soluble aspirin when I was unwell?

Calpol is a type of paracetamol suspension. You can get cheaper alternatives at any pharmacy.
