Anyone play the drums?

DD has just started learning.

Just wondered if you could give me a view on whether an electronic kit is suitable for practice, pros and cons etc? We live in a flat so I fear a proper drum kit is out of the question! Any makes you would suggest?

Alternatively she can practise at school but I fear not much will get done that way.

I'd say a good electric one is better than acoustic because you can bring the volume down. they're relatively expensive though.

When they've just started learning you can get a practice pad which makes almost no noise, and that can get them to the point of knowing if they want to continue.
