Oh what a shock. Their rebranding is the equivalent of sprinkling glitter on a shit.

Not a surprise.

I think it should be law that before you place any online order, you have to know who the parcel carrier will be. Stops scams, and I expect some companies would stop using Hermes and the other bad ones.

Evri Parcel Delivered Late/To the Wrong House/Not at All

I agree with @balalake - companies should have to declare which courier they’re using. This is an absolute shambles of a firm, quite how they’ve last this long is a complete mystery.

Evri chance you wont get your parcel

Must be the exception where I live. Rarely have a problem with Hermes/Evri and the local lady who delivers for them is lovely.

Natra · 30/03/2022 20:32

I tend to wait over 2 weeks for hermes parcels now (if it arrives at all) I live in the Highlands so things tend to be a day or two late with other parcel companies, but over 2 weeks is ridiculous. They're shit

Skittykitty123 · 30/03/2022 22:35

I had a "delivery" from EVRi last week, email said "left in your garage" strange! I thought, as I don't have a garage!! Checked out their picture they take, hmmm not even my property! My daughter came to visit the next day, and a neighbour across the Rd and down the Rd, said I think this is your mum's parcel! Yeah same shit company just a different name. No point rebranding if still going to be the same bad service.

youngestisapsycho · 30/03/2022 23:01

My driver is great.. he’s down our road nearly every day. Chatty & friendly

Yoloohno · 30/03/2022 23:51

My driver is lovely and delivers well and sensibly apart from today when she chucked my order next to the bins.

TeaandHobnobs · 30/03/2022 23:55

We’ve just moved and every single thing that was supposed to be delivered by Evri has not arrived. Not that they’ve claimed it has - they’ve just not bothered / refused to deliver it to us. I also have started blacklisting sellers / retailers who use them, it just isn’t worth the hassle

DinosaursEatMan · 31/03/2022 00:01

The driver here is great, it does seem to be quite a lottery.

XenoBitch · 31/03/2022 00:06

I have had more bad experiences with Hermes than good. A couple of times now, I have tracked a parcel that was 'out for delivery'. Then it got taken back to the depot, and was never seen again.
On one occasion, it was not something that could be re-ordered either,

voxnihili · 31/03/2022 06:03

I use Hermes / Evri a lot for sending parcels. The only issue I’ve had is several buyers on eBay claiming it hasn’t arrived, then when I show them the photo of it inside their porch I get a message back saying they’ll check with the people they live with. I then never hear back from them. I think they see the label, know their reputation and try it on!

Nnique · 31/03/2022 06:10

Luckily our Hermes drivers have always been excellent, no issues at all - in two very different locations. Touch wood, long may it continue, and so on!

Always feel really sorry for those who have had horrible service from them and I definitely agree that companies should be required to declare which shipping handler they will be using to send your goods.

Birthdaybirdie · 04/04/2022 09:38

Christ, absolutely you should be able to see who the courier is before you place an order. It would save so much hassle and is why I use Amazon so much rather than others.

Just had to yell out of the window to stop an Evri (so close to Evil..) bloke delivering my new washing airer to my neighbour who never hands parcels over if they’ve been misdelivered. I’m home and have an open porch so there’s no excuse! JOHN LEWIS STOP USING SHIT CARRIERS OR WE’LL MORE TO AMAZON Hmm

skull66 · 17/05/2022 17:26

Had a parcel delivered today, the courier(local own vehicle) says they are afraid of dogs, have told her the dogs are in backyard, she threw the parcel from my driveway to the front door (about 20ft) said it'd ok nothing fragile! How the hell does she know has she been looking in my parcels?

Glittertwins · 17/05/2022 17:30

I know it's a bit old @Birthdaybirdie but I did get a choice from one online retailer - Evri or DPD. Straight for DPD!

starlingdarling · 17/05/2022 17:37

I've never had any problems with Evri/Hermes or DPD. Always seem to have issues with Yodel and parcels from the Royal Mail. Yodel is usually delayed and RM always pretend they've missed me and nobody was home. I chased the post lady down the street twice after receiving a card only to find out she didn't have the parcel with her and it was already at the post office... that closes for 2 hours at lunch time and again at 5.30pm.

vodkaredbullgirl · 17/05/2022 17:40

Missed a parcel 2x wouldn't let me request a safe place. Wasn't going to make an account just for one parcel.

Pollydonia · 17/05/2022 17:45

They delivered my daughters birthday present to a secure unit. I had put my work address on for delivery. The company name that is on the 6 foot high sign in the car park in which they parked AND THEN WALKED OUT OF, CROSSED A DUAL CARRIAGEWAY TO DELIVER TO THE WRONG PLACE 🤬.
I only got my parcel because the lovely receptionist in the secure unit brought it over to me on her lunch. She told the driver that I didnt work there, that the company was opposite and he agreed that he had used our car park then left the parcel on the floor.
