Tonsil cyst!?! 21 weeks pregnant

Hi, I'm 21 weeks pregnant (maybe not related to pregnancy) but I noticed my left tonsil was very sore the past few days and I had a white hard lump/ball on my left tonsil only. I have contacted the GP and sent a picture over of my tonsils however the GP has said it looks like a cyst but I would need to monitor it and see if it gets harder or bigger and then contact them back if needed. I have looked online and it is coming up with all sorts of stuff cysts, cancer etc but I was worried as it said some cancers in the throat are caused by hpv virus which I have had for a few years. Has anyone else experienced anything like this whilst pregnant or not pregnant? I have attached pics :) x

I think it’s totally unrelated to pregnancy and just one of those things. Just monitor it and see what happens. It might be a tonsilloth making its way out.

Hpv taking hold in the cervix is different to hpv taking hold in the throat I believe, just to give you some reassurance.

Hey ! I’m 13 weeks pregnant and have just found a tonsil cyst that looks the exact same, I’m in the hospital tomorrow, but I’m keen to know what happened with yours ? Hope all is ok

Same! I’m 39 weeks pregnant and felt scratching when I lie down. Had a look in the mirror and found a small white lump on my tonsil, about 2cms big. Not a tonsil stone which is what I was expecting to see. I’ve messaged my doctor and I am waiting to hear back.

Hi, I was given antibiotics when I had the baby and the tonsil cyst went away

Hey! So mine turned out to be a tonsil cyst which can be related to pregnancy as apparently you have more saliva in your mouth which can lead to these. I got it removed in the hospital without anesthetic as I was pregnant, they gave me a numbing spray and it was fine.

I have a history of cancer so I think this is why I was referred to the hospital, but it was totally fine and never came back.
