Has anyone done this before? The process is a mystery. With EDF and have filled in the form online.
When I asked EDF they said they had to separate it into two accounts which took a few weeks so I waited. They were then going to send a form. Never arrived. Called them and they said go to this website. Did that and filled in a form. It only asked for one account number, then the separate meter readings. Did that for gas.
So how do DWP know the second account number...never mind.
It then says it can take up to 12 weeks for DWP to process it. You can chase it directly with DWP. Not sure who to call or when.
Then it says DWP will send a START or REJECTION notification to you once the application is processed. Assuming by post? I thought they called to discuss the amount they collect. I know it is £3.70 a week and the rest is calculated on usage but it would be helpful to know how much in advance. Is that just set out in the notification?
Do I need to fill in a separate one for electric? I think I should to be on the safe side?
