Manchester Arena Parking

Afternoon all

I am off to see Royal Blood at Manchester Arena on Saturday. Where is a good place to park? I will have sat nav, but I am not a hugely confident driver so it needs to be easy to get there and more importantly, get out of easily.

Ta very much

The Printworks carpark isn't too bad but they are all relatively expensive around that area.
Alternatively Park at a tramstop outside of the centre and get the tram in.

Starisnotanumber · 29/03/2022 16:58

There is a car park actually attached to the arena so you don't have to go outside at all.
The downside is that it is full of people attending the same concert and you all want to leave at the same time.
Which way are you coming in M60 junction 17 is easy if you are coming that way,if you wanted to park a distance from arena and use metro you could park at Prestwich so no city centre parking and easy access back to motorway

Oooo, we are eating at the printworks before the show. I will look at that. Do the trams still run that time of night?

Looked at the arena parking - there seems to be a couple of different ones. I dont mind parking there and will just have to be patient when leaving. We are coming from N Wales

No advice but just wanted to say enjoy the concert! My son is seeing them tomorrow at the O2.

33 Great Ducie St, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M3 1RR

Just opposite the arena. Always park there. Still busy trying to get off but much easier than the official arena car park.

Electriccircus · 29/03/2022 17:19

I've parked at Celebration Village before, as there's a nice route through the backstreets to escape quickly after the concert.

Last tram is around 23.46 to Prestwich so should be ontime for concert finishing.
Could also go for a drink after concert if you park on arena car park would probably get off car park at same time.
If you want to park outside at tram stop gmpte website has details

gobbynorthernbird · 29/03/2022 17:25

The trams (you'd want Victoria for the arena) stop at about 11.40, depending on which direction you're going in.

When I have parked at the arena, it's taken ages to get out; then I've had to go the opposite way to where I wanted due to the restrictions.

Last time I went, I pre-booked at Manchester Central and walked the 15 mins there/back. I would definitely do that again - straight out of the car park and back to the M60 in no time...

bellinisurge · 29/03/2022 18:20

Last time I went I parked in the Arena. I was being herded up to a higher floor when an attendant, seeing I had a small car, asked me if I was a good driver (English wasn't his first language). I said Yes and he directed me to a tight space. Naturally I got in. 😁. It took ages to get out but that was because there were loads of road works AND the Mancunian Way was closed. I'd still park there next time. Can't be arsed with faffing about any more.

maddy68 · 29/03/2022 18:26

Park on the railway carpark at the back. It's way cheaper and easier and easy to get out afterwards. Go past the front of the arena. Go left and it's on the left hand side

ticktock19 · 29/03/2022 18:41

I've prebooked the actual arena car park through NCP before - it gives you 12hrs parking for a set rate plus you get the priority parking on the ground floor and no queues to get out - the arena staff stop the traffic to let you out. Absolutely brilliant service and having queued for over an hour previously to get out then it's so worth it

TodaysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 29/03/2022 18:59

Thank you all.

Some great suggestions and I will check them all out.

@OldTinHat - I hope your DS enjoys it as much as I know we will

@maddy68 - I cant quite figure out where you mean

You can prebook many of the car parks in that area. We looked into it as we were there last week but they were all booked by the time we thought. We contemplated parking at Great Northern on Deansgate but ended up getting the train instead. It's about 20 mins walk from Great Northern.

Starisnotanumber · 01/04/2022 12:31

I take it you have heard gig is cancelled

Red bank isn't far to walk
