Ovulation pain

Hey all, I wasn't sure what threat to post this on.. as I'm not currently trying to conceive but anyway, I have somewhat irregular periods, and I have also always sort of 14 days after my period, experience stabbing pains and numb pains in my lower left abdomen (occasionally on the right side but it's usually my left side) I have always been a bit worried about this as I felt like there was something wrong with my ovaries however I have recently at the grand old age of 27 discovered that it is actually ovulation pains and is quite normal! Yay! My pains aren't really bad, not unbearable or anything like that, I'd probably put it at a 2 or 3 on a pain scale. However, I have looked online and it said that the pains tend to last between an hour and 48 hours, but mine seem to last for days! I'm currently on either my 4th or 5th day of it now, is that normal? Does anyone else have pain that lasts days?

Mine generally last for a day, but are very painful - 7 or 8 and sometimes more on the pain scale. When I was in active labour I couldn't talk - sometimes it's that bad. It's got worse with age, and lasts longer as well.

I mentioned that to my doc and she just said it was normal. No offer of anything stronger for pain that I told her kept be bedbound for a day at least every couple of months.

Mine generally last for a day on and off.

If you're getting pain/numbness for 5 days, it might be worth checking it out? I don't know. I didn't have ovulation pain or period pain until after I had my second child!

I was having ovulation pain and eventually got it checked out. It turns out I have probable endometriosis and one of my fallopian tubes is blocked from the damage. It's always worth getting or checked out just in case.

I had ovulation pain when I had per foods and it’d last for 2 days maximum.

In my late 30s it got worse so I went off for a scan but they found nothing.

In your case I’d definitely get it checked out, especially if you’d like children in the future.

Mine did get worse as I was in late 30s, one evening I was doubled up in pain not moving for mosh of the evening and painkillers didn’t even touch the sides.

I get left sided hip pain for 48 hours. It's a bit like an alarm reminding me.

I'm on day 4 of it today.. it's still on the left side but it's more of a dull ache today rather than a sharp pain.. my flow app does say that I am due to ovulate in 1 day so it must be in the lead up to ovulation? I was glad when I discovered it was normal, but I'm abit worried that it lasts for days 🤔 booked a phone consultation with the GP for Friday

Day 4? Mines on and off not constant either.
Yeah, docs is a good call. I've had this years, never queried it. Like I said I see it as more of a reminder than a hassle.
Hope you get on OK.
