Went to the Design Museum in London today and have come away coveting all of the stylish design classics - I want to purge my home of all the shabby tat and invest is design classics for my home one-by-one (slowly) for the rest of my life.

What should I put on my lust list? Apart from the Alessi juicer of course!

Chairs. Have realised my current chairs are pants.

I have a Balzac chair and footstool. I lusted after it for years, used to go visit the one in the Design Museum every so often!

arco lamp - if you have the space (you can get cheap versions).

String furniture.

The Juicy Salif (Alessi juicer) is the worst juicer in the all the world (looks nice though).

I'd always go for a black, gloss, Flos Spun Floor Lamp, and a Saarinen Tulip dining table (oval, eight seater, marble top).

For a more entry level item, I've got two nice black Eames birds, which I love.

Kikkoman soy sauce. I believe the bottle design is in the Design Museum.

Oh oh I've also got a Flow Miss K lamp (black, gold inside shade) which I have zero regrets about buying approx. 13 years ago.

God I do want the Tulip table now. Have been salivating all over the Aram and Heal's websites all evening.

About 20 years ago we bought 4 black Vitra Panton chairs for our kitchen.
They have been one of the best purchases we made. I still love them.
And I just checked - they now cost about twice as much as they did when we bought them, so suppose they were a good investment too.

I really want a Paulistano chair. One day…

Nice squashy eames lounger

The Juicy Salif (Alessi juicer) is the worst juicer in the all the world (looks nice though).

If you think that is bad (I have one), try Starck’s other masterpiece of form leading function, the Hot Bertaa kettle.

Carl Hansen CH24 chairs, Oluce Atollo lamp, Menu Plinth tables and so many more but it depends on your individual style.

@etulosba Oh dear God, I can't see how that wouldn't result in burns.

@custardlover DH and I loved the Vitra Museum in Basel - if you ever get the chance to go, it was amazing. Ditto the Design Museum in Copenhagen (notably, these were the lovely frivolous things we did with our time before DD - we're more likely to be found at Centre Parcs these days).
