Mother’s Day

I saw this on Instagram and just wanted to post it here.

Sending love to all mothers and all those who struggle with this day for whatever reason. Have a nice Sunday💗

I’m really missing my mum today. I think it’s because my kids haven’t bothered, yet I would always make the effort to see mine.
So I’ve been and put flowers on my mum’s grave, that made me smile.

Why are all the cards to the best mum in the world, dear mummy etc etc. I don't have that kind of relationship with my mother. I always have to buy a national trust card with no message in it and then she askes why there is no mother's day message on it.
i can't really reply - because you aren't the best mother in the world. Not even close - can I.

But lots of other people do have that kind of relationship with their mums! I did. So you buy the card that’s most fitting for you to give and let others do the same…🤷‍♀️

I struggle with this too. It's hard to choose a neutral card. I can't stomach the "best mum in the world" and "to a fantastic mum". It's just not true.

It was M&S that pissed me off most this year. About 60% of their cards had "love you" plastered over the front. It was so weird. I luckily do have a good relationship with my mum but I would never buy something like this. Basic that just says happy Mother's Day and my grandmother always insisted hers said Mothering Sunday.

Totally agree. I struggled with one for mine too as apparently a simple "happy Mother's Day" is hard to find!

Mothers day is a very special day for every mom and child. I would live to wish all the mamma's very happy and loving mothers day.
