Absolutely gutted, thieves came into our house early yesterday morning, stole the car keys and stole my car. I called the police and to be fair they came straight away, took a statement and gave me a crime reference.
I’ve been on to the tracker company asking them to please track it and feed into the police so they can trace it. The tracking company has confirmed that the ‘tracker pro’ that was in it was disabled within 20 minutes of it being stolen 😭😭😭 They’ve put that in writing and I’ve sent this to the insurance company.
The insurance claim was only able to be made online, so I’ve filled in an online form and got an automated response with a reference number but have not spoken to anyone at the insurance company yet. I’ve also spoken to the GAP insurance, where I could actually get through to a human being, and they said not to accept any offer made by the insurance, and to simply take it to them.
Does anyone know how long it might take for the insurance to come through? I’m pretty sad and low about it, as we have no car now. So buses for us for now, when I’ve saved and budgeted for the car, but there’s not enough in the budget just to go ‘ok no worries we’ll just buy a new car’.
No courtesy car as I’d only be eligible for this if the car is in the garage being fixed - I had not appreciated this when buying the insurance.
