Not me but a boy I used to know broke his arm attempting to skateboard on his son's Christmas present.

Most of my own injuries have occurred in real time Grin

It's surprising ( or it was to me) how much doing a cartwheel hurts these days.

Lots more of me to hold up in the air.

Yep, wine involved 😆

Iputthetrampintrampoline · 25/03/2022 20:38

I ran up a small grass verge chasing my daughter, I am 50 something too! I fell right down again couldn;t get up and ended up crawling up a tree. Grazed everything and a cut leg to boot! Then similar to you I was reliving my youthish and teaching my dd northern soul dancing, sprinkled some talc on the kitchen floor ended up smashing the glass on the cooker..fking marvellous!

My MIL broke her arm at the age of 79 after having a go on a skateboard!

Wbeezer · 25/03/2022 20:44

Im a 50 something who decided to go for a half day horse ride across the hills with teenage DS as a o post lockdown adventure. It was fine at first but my legs were so weak they lost all grip after a while and I fell off when my horse suddenly trottted downhill. Managed to tuck and roll and aim for a clump of heather but rattled my teeth and had a sore shoulder for ages.

After my husband left i went on a bunch of dates and one of them I went climbing and fell off. Spent the whole day in A&E waiting for an cray on my ankle with this random off Bumble. We didn't have another date, but three years on we're still friends. And my ankle still tweaks from time to time.

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 25/03/2022 20:49

Split my flaps and dislocated my knee roller skating...... I used to be bloody fab at roller skating Sad

OldTinHat · 25/03/2022 20:49

I put my hip out at a bbq when my sons were young. I was trying to demonstrate how flexible I used to be and attempted the splits. I'd also just climbed out of a flower bed after trying high kicks so you would have thought that I may have learned that I was far from bring my bendy 14yr old self at 40...nope...sigh...and I hope I continue to have a young mind even when my body fails me! 😆

inheritancetrack · 25/03/2022 20:50

DH went on DSs skateboard. Fell off. Laughed and got back on. Fell of again and bumped his head. Laughed.

I insisted he went to A&E and he had fractured his skull.

OldTinHat · 25/03/2022 20:51

Ps. I have survived to 50 so far but its just a matter of time before I fall off another wedge shoe, dance in the kitchen and break my nose on the worktop...aah, I could go on but it's too embarrassing!

Nishkin · 25/03/2022 20:54

My children when they were younger persuaded me to copy them and do a somersault on a bouncy castle- much Pimms had been taken, landed slightly awkwardly on ankle

Nishkin · 25/03/2022 20:55

@inheritancetrack 😲

Nishkin · 25/03/2022 20:55

That emoji is meant to suggest shock. Not sure if it is the right one….

Hollywolly1 · 25/03/2022 22:26

@OldTinHat
That must have hurt really badly ,did your nose bleed do you mind my asking and did how did you know that you broke it

MargaretThursday · 25/03/2022 22:28

I played tennis reasonably competitively until i got married at 21yo. I then moved area and had children and didn't get round to joining a club for around 20 years.

The first club session I went down to I was determined to show I could play and ended up in a rather tough men's doubles.
On going for one particular ball, my head forgot I was no longer 20 and my legs knew I was a rather unfit 40...
Which ended up with me tripping, and falling rather dramatically, skidding about 3-4m on the court. I don't do blood very well, so I assumed them I was totally fine while dripping blood from various parts and continued playing.
Rather surprisingly they welcomed me back the next week.

There was a long streak on the court where I fell until they resurfaced the courts too. Grin

H1Drangea · 25/03/2022 22:36

Showed DD how to do a somersault ( showing my advanced age , it’s a forward roll apparently )
Felt faint and a bit sick for a couple of hours , I was about 45 at the time

Went with DD and her friend to see One Direction …. Bloody good show , but I was exhausted for the next week

CamsPaisleyCuffs · 25/03/2022 22:45

Took my young DD ice-skating to a rink where I frequented the weekly ice disco as a teen in stone washed double denim whizzing round to the weekly chart hits including Kylie, Wet, Wet, Wet and Bros. Promptly fell on my arse which broke (coccyx) and my wrist just for good measure. I was 40 Blush.

Mocara · 25/03/2022 23:32

Dad and uncle taken to a&e after taking a tumble while winning a three legged race at a family picnic (145years between them )
When they explained to the triage nurse what happened , the nurse asked my mum and aunt how far along was their dementia !

HopingForMyRainbowBaby · 25/03/2022 23:52

Nearly broke my neck and back whilst roller skating. Thankfully the only major damage I did was severe whiplash, a bad head injury and lots of internal bruising. Falling definitely hurts way more as an adult!

jackstini · 25/03/2022 23:53

This will out me to anyone who knows me!

At a famous zip wire place in Wales I went on the underground trampoline nets

We were all racing across them in different ways - running, jumping, striding. My suggestion was to gallop - a la Miranda

Twisted my ankle so badly it swelled to bigger than my knee; I had to be carried out up all 4 stories and spent the rest of my holiday in a wheelchair

Took months to get better and it's still weak now
