Hi!

I just had an offer accepted on my first home and I am SO excited...now the fun process of choosing paint colours begins.

I love the look of dark wood floors with light muddy grey/green walls. It's all older house, so wanting more of the traditional look. I will add some inspo pics, the pics are slightly dark, but that's the tone I like.

So far, I am pretty set on Little Green Pearl, but don't know whether to go for light or mid?
Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
I definitely want the green tone more than a beigy grey, and quite light also.

My second question, if I was going to fo this colour throughout the hallway, lounge and dining room, would you carry it through to the kitchen, or tie in another colour?
I am SO confused!

Thanks for your help 😊

I'm not sure about this colour. I don't know why.there is a property board which may get more traction

PaperTyger · 25/03/2022 20:35

Even if I liked it I would not run it through every where

I love this colour. I think it can work as an almost neutral backdrop across every room and be accented with different colours in each.

Looks lovely @Indoorcatmum ! Lovely choice of colour- does it suit the style/age of property?

Not to put a downer on things but don't get carried away until you have exchanged contracts... Best of luck :)

Thanks everyone!
I will check out that FB group.
@OddsNSodsBitsNBobs I know, im trying to remind myself that things could change and not to get overly excited. It's hard, but very good advice Smile

I hate to sound miserable OP but I'd stick to pinning on pinterest and ordering in paint swatches for now and circling what you hypothetically like. Everything looks different in a real room on a wall.

Offer accepted is such a long way from getting the keys, tastes change, and you really have to be living in the home with your things to know what works and what you want, what works with the light of the house at points in the day in each room and what furnishings you want.

I wasted hours pre-deciding while we waited (nearly a year) to get the keys and then did none of it as my opinions changed, as did trends. Best decision I made was to immediately paint it all a light neutral and just wait until I'd chosen floors and furnishings, artwork etc. Much easier to hold paint swatches up to things than it is to pick blind and what you like the look of isn't always right in the room or giving the right mood in real life.

Best of luck with the completion, hopefully it will go swiftly!

I have that colour but it's Overtly Olive by Dulux and I've run it through to the hall and kitchen. I absolutely love it,it's so soothing and peaceful.
