Not quite as existential as the title sounds!

Planning a get together for old work colleagues. Maybe about 30 people.

Looking for a bar near Waterloo or Vauxhall that isn't trendy or crazy busy. 10 mins or so from station.

Somewhere where we can linger, talk and maybe order food.

I only know the areas as a part time commuter so only see the thronging bars!

Does anyone know a hidden gem!

It's been 100 years since I went out (at all) but pre Covid, I used to go to the Young Vic Bar near Waterloo. I haven't been since Covid so unsure if it still meets your needs.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been out in that area but I always remember The Fire House as a good place to have work drinks at - and they do food too.

Maybe for that many people you could look at booking a private room with its own bar?

It might not cost that much, if anything, if you're likely to meet a minimum spend on food and drink.

No idea if something would be available in those areas though.

Thanks all!

Great suggestions!

If anyone comes along with great ideas for places off the beaten track that would be awesome! X

The old red lion in Kennington?

Haven't been for a while but the Three Stags near the Imperial War Museum always used to be nice.
