I’ve got 607 and have stuck there. Is it on the right track at all? I’ve tried all sorts of words connected with it so far but it’s getting me no further.

Sorry, but I would abandon that track and try a different one!

Got it completely by accident this morning. Didn't have any greens and was just typing in random words to start me off.

Well strike me pink, methodical thinking got me nowhere (I don’t think it’ll be spoiling anything if I say my best “cold” was ZOO) but the old looking around the room method got me there with just three greens. Sympathy to those also struggling today.

One of my usual starting words was a low green - not quite a direct path as that sent me on a bit of a tangent but between that and a bit of looking around and entering random words I managed to find the right track fairly quickly.

Only had a handful of greens that don't seem at all relevant and then went for a complete guess which got it! But disappointed I didn't get to work at it.

Oh, FFS. I am 130 guesses in and can’t get beyond the 600s (which was my 9th guess so I thought this would be a good day). I think I will just go back to random words as nothing that fits remotely with my highest word is getting me anywhere.

I've just had a quick look at the 600s and some are very helpful and others seem to have no connection at all. It's a very strange (but addictive) game.

I was wrong in that I have 785, which is clearly linked to my 600s, but appears to take me nowhere.

Unhelpfully of course it’s a theme I know quite a lot about so I can think of lots of word-wasting angles!

Ha! My very best guess was 985 and I got it in 2 after that.

After the initial delight wears off when you solve it quickly, and in spite of the absolute frustration when it’s just out of reach some days, I’d much rather it took me all day. It’s not nearly as satisfying when you fluke it as when you’ve been turning words over all day in the back of your mind whilst going about your business.
