Do you use Discord?

I'm not a gamer, but am starting to enjoy discord a bit and looking for some groups with adults in to enjoy (but not sexy groups!). I love MN but want to make more connections with people to address some of the loneliness I feel in real life.

Are you in any good ones that you could recommend/invite me to?

My interests are dogs, crafting, mental health/recovery, not much really which is why I want to chat to new folk and have my world expanded a little.

I have no need for discord. I talk to myself. That also helps with ensuring people social distance in public. For some reason people walk away from the lady that is busy talking to herself.

disboard.org/search

You can search here under topic.

I would just warn you to be extremely careful on discord if you are vulnerable even though it’s moderated locally and has rules.

I do have discord but just use it for gaming, i think most people do.

Have you looked on reddit op? That has soooo many different categories of interests.

I myself have been also getting into discord. Although not the part of it you would think of. I use the discord where there are older men and women such as in valkyrae's discord instead of children screaming at the top of their lungs.

No I find it a terrible programme to run and I intensely dislike the way they create 2032323 boards for 1 topic in each area. So I stopped I have it on my computer only due to having a good friend on there and he uses it a lot so I can catch him there.

Based on my experience I dont recommend it. Maybe Ive had bad luck but Ive tried a few popular servers and had to close my account for my own wellbeing. it was a truly shocking experience. I came back years later and it was the same. In both of my experiences it was full of obnoxious young teenagers as moderators on power trips or bullyish adults. Its like the school playground, and theres a hierarchy.

I only use it for private groups like actual friends I know. There is a lot of us who meet up at festivals and we live all over the country and some abroad. It's just replaced facebook groups/events as its just much more user friendly.

For much more broader topics like crafting, music scenes or subject communities I find reddit is much more open.
