First time weaning

Hi all,

So I'm a first time mum to my DS who has just turned 5 months old. So in a few weeks I will begin weaning but I'm at a loss of hoe to start. I've read advice but everyone says different and I'm so confused.

What is the best meal to start with? Due to routine etc I feel like breakfast would be easiest but don't know what, also read I should feed him bitter veg first which I can't really do for breakfast right? Also, as he'll be 6 months or near enough can he have finger food? Also, does his water need to be boiled and cooled or can he have tap? Do you offer water just with food?

Sorry I'm just so confused and a bit overwhelmed 😳

I did lunch first. Probably started with some sort of cereal tbh. Yes you can give finger foods from 6 months. He can have tap water as a drink. Still needs boiled for formula

I started with lunch as well, first meal was broccoli. Think I tried with some yoghurt the next day. He hated the yoghurt but ate up the broccoli! I also did a lot of finger food, my SIL gave me this book which I found great. Also gave him filtered water that we kept in the fridge.

You'll work out what's best for you and your DS Smile
