Cat repellent that works?

Is there such a thing?! We have a cat in the next cul de sac that has taken it upon itself to spend all night crying in our garden, driving the dog mad and keeping us awake.

Reviews for the ultrasonic things seem very mixed. Any ideas for putting off this twat of a cat?

A bigger cat.

I wonder why it's crying in your garden all night. Is it desexed? Have you asked the owners if they could keep it in at night? Mine are always locked in at night.

Please don't use an ultrasonic scarer - I'm 42 and they hurt my head when I'm in range. Must be worse for kids, dogs etc.

Scare it out the garden from time to time, it'll move on. Especially if you let the dog out a few times.

The only thing i found worked was getting a dog. Tried everything else, didn't work and we had a garden full of disgusting cat shit. Now the dog runs out of the back door as fast as possible when we open it, barking his head off and scares the cats away. Since we got the dog, cat shit has reduced over time by about 90%. So if the cat is bugging you send the dog out and encourage him to see it off.
