Tea towels. Storage. Thrilling ๐Ÿ˜‹

I have a new kitchen with big deep drawers and I want to know how to store my tea towels in them. Donโ€™t want to store them in a linen cupboard because I canโ€™t be arsed to go upstairs.

I have a deep draw with a stack of teatowels, a stack of napkins, a stack of clean cloths, and the christmas table runner in the corners, and the table cloths in the middle.

It's not exciting, but it works, and it's stayed tidy for 2 years, which is an achievement compared to any other thing I've tried!

I use baskets in my deep drawers to keep everything in place.

Hadenoughofthisbullshit · 23/03/2022 11:59

Stick em in a Tupperware lid off?

I have a drawer in my kitchen full of tea towels as I collect them like some kind of linen-obsessed psychopath. I roll all of mine into sausages as I find I can fit more into the drawer then.

Nnique · 23/03/2022 12:08

@Harlequin1088 that made me laugh. Thereโ€™s one of those lurking inside me too, so Iโ€™ve forced myself to only have catering tea towels - I know that once I buy the first lovely one thatโ€™ll be it for me!

I have my teatowels and hand towels stacked in a deep drawer with my secret chocolate stash underneath.

Iโ€™m 37 weeks pregnant with my first and my sister came round the other week to help me tidy up the house a bit. When she opened the tea towel drawer she just gave me The Look and muttered โ€œWhat is wrong with you??โ€ before slamming it shut again. I got a bit defensive and tried to explain that commemorative tea towels from the Queenโ€™s last Jubilee (10 years agoโ€ฆโ€ฆ) is a perfectly normal thing to hoard in my kitchen.

But it is...

See, Iโ€™m one of you! Grin

Deep drawer with a stack of folded tea towels (far too many) , oven gloves, cloths and pinnys
Love me a tea towel ๐Ÿคฃ

Folded and stored on end Kon Marie style, so I can flip through and decide which one I fancy today.

Tea towels are very useful. Mine are stored in large - overfilled - basket on the kitchen trolley

MuggleMadness · 23/03/2022 13:09

They only fall over if you don't have enough other crap in the drawer, give it a couple of weeks!! (Use a box/basket in the meantime)

20viona · 23/03/2022 13:11

I would roll them. I roll my clothes in my drawers so in my head I can see how this would work. I'm jealous ๐Ÿคฃ

londonmummy1966 · 23/03/2022 13:18

Poundland sell the "fake wicker" plastic baskets that are the right size for Kondoed tea towels. Then you need a matching one next to them for kitchen towels and a smaller one for dishcloths and another for dusters.

VagueSemblance · 23/03/2022 13:19

get or create a tall narrow cardboard box, like a wine box. Cut down to height of drawer. Use to restrain teetering tower of tea towels. Not elegant, I suppose you could cover it in fabric or something.

KatyN · 23/03/2022 14:47

During the day days of lockdown our tea towels were looking grim. Decided I needed to buy some more.
Spend ยฃ40, only got 3 but they are LOVELY.

(Folded in a box)
